Five social posts every book launch needs

Launching a book is exciting and daunting at once. With limited time, knowing what to post is half the battle. Here are five posts that consistently earn attention, and four more for after launch day.
1. The unboxing video
Instead of a photo holding the printed book, film yourself unboxing the first review copy. People stop for people, not products. Show genuine excitement, give a brief overview, and use captions and overlaid text for the promotional detail.
It does not need production value. Julio Bruno, author of Passion to Lead, did exactly this to strong effect.
2. The free chapter download
A free chapter gets people interested before launch and identifies your readers. Give a brief overview of the book's main messages, then include the chapter link in every post leading up to launch with a clear call to action.
3. A powerful paragraph
Rather than a photo of the contents page, post a paragraph that addresses a pressing issue your audience recognises. It demonstrates the quality of your writing and the value inside.
4. Pre-launch endorsements
Post endorsements one or two days before launch to lift reach. Endorsements from recognised figures lend credibility. Tag the endorsers and thank them properly.
5. Launch day promotion
On launch day, post the book with a specific offer. Video with text overlay outperforms a static image. Thank everyone who supported you and tag them, which extends your reach into their networks.
Four posts for after launch
Reviews from readers and recognised names act as social proof. Awards, or even a shortlisting, give you a promotional narrative to run across channels.
Earned PR establishes authority beyond your own audience. And bestseller status, shared with a strong graphic, invites people into the success rather than just announcing it.
